Yeah there is a bug in the Triplify application that is causing this. IMO the whole thing needs rewriting with comments in because it's impossible to debug the code as it stands.

Apparently, Triplify already produces JSON: http://triplify.org/Documentation

"JSON output: simply append ?t-output=json to any Triplify URI and you can easily access Triplify data, even without an RDF/N3 parser"

I can't get it to work, but it looks like it should.

Like Roger said what would is great about this is that it means we don't have to hack Horizon to death in order to get information out for web services.

I don't know much about OPAC or Scriblio but can it also expose the books that I've taken out or whether or not a particular book is available in a library?

My other question is would it be possible to expose content as JSON as well as RDF? Obviously JSON wouldn't be as rich as RDF however for quick mashups it means you don't have to work out how to parse the RDF first and it'll just speed up development?

Brilliant thinking.

Using RDF for metadata avoids a site having to create its own API (or locate and choose one) and means book-metadata consumers don't have to write tools for each API they encounter.

(Who consumes book metadata? Why any cataloguing software for personal collections and special-interest areas maintained by individuals and not institutions. I'm interested in the subject for e-book reading-device libary-management software.)

Given OCLC's possessiveness regarding metadata, the sooner and the more widespread, the better.
